Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival & acclimatization in Leh

Arrive in Leh and soak in the dramatic high-altitude landscapes.
The day is reserved for rest and acclimatization to prepare for the journey ahead.
Stay at Leh.

Day 2 - Birding at Warilla Pass

Begin your birding adventure around Leh and the scenic Warilla Pass.
Watch for high-altitude avian wonders against stunning Himalayan backdrops.
Come back to Leh for stay.

Day 3 - Into the Nubra Valley

Journey into the Nubra Valley, home to stark deserts and lush oasis towns.
Experience birding in shifting terrains as you travel to Hunder and Turtuk.
Stay at Hunder / Turtuk.

Day 4 - Exploring Turtuk & Return to Leh

Explore the cultural richness of Turtuk and Hunder.
Return to Leh while continuing your birding and photography explorations.
Stay at Leh.

Day 5 - Enroute to Pangong Lake

Head toward Pangong Lake, with exciting birding stops en-route.
Witness the dramatic transformation of landscapes as you move eastward.
Stay at Merak.

Day 6 - Crossing into Hanle

A scenic journey from Pangong to the remote village of Hanle.
Expect to spot unique bird species and elusive mammals along the way.
Stay at Hanle.

Day 7 - Exploring Hanle

Enjoy morning and evening birding sessions in the serene Hanle region.
Discover high-altitude wildlife in one of India’s most untouched corners.
Stay at Hanle.

Day 8 - Back to Leh via Changthang

A full day of birding as you travel back from Hanle to Leh.
Look out for wildlife sightings in the wild, expansive Changthang region.
Stay at Leh.

Day 9 - Fly out of Leh

The tour concludes with memories of rare birds, sweeping landscapes, and quiet moments in the wild.

  • TIPPING –Local guides, jeep drivers, and resort staff play an important role in making your safari experience memorable. We encourage our campers to consider tipping them as a token of appreciation since it does not just reward them, but also supports their livelihood.
  • Camp fees will be revised in case any changes are made by Forest Departments, guides, gypsy owners etc. in their fees.
